Helpfully Wikipedia has already defined the WAF for us here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wife_acceptance_factor

“design elements that increase the likelihood a wife will approve the purchase of expensive consumer electronics products”

In the case of homelabs this specifically has a number of elements for consideration such as:
*Location
*Size
*Noise
*Power & Cooling
*Cost

The WAF can also be known (and arguably is known) more as the WTF, aka the Wife Tolerance Factor!

It is critical to understand your requirements, in order to obtain maximum WAF.
